A great topic to consider, especially as an aspiring funny internet writer (and also regular IRL writer) who is still honing his voice. I never considered I was writing more for myself than my reader, I think because as a blogger you sort of have to feel like you’re doing it for yourself, because you love it, since so much content you spend so much time with gets seemingly lost in the void. I do feel like I’ve started seeing more essays and lengthier posts from bloggers getting positive feedback and touching on common sentiments in their audience and among peers. I’ve started to feel comfortable writing more and more as well, so here’s hoping there’s a sea change afoot!

As a hair stylist and makeup artist I can relate so much.

Everything is done for free or little and you know it’s wrong but you know it’s part of the game. I never started this for fame, for attention or to work in celebrity appearances. It’s so hard to know where to go and how to make this work for the long term.
