American Horror Story (often abbreviated to A.H.S.) is an original series created by Ryan Murphy, who also created the popular television series, Glee. The horror series spans over several seasons, and each season tells a different story.

For example; the first season is about a family who move into a haunted house in Florida. The second season follows a man who is wrongly accused of murdering several women and is placed in a ‘60s-era mental asylum. The third season tells the story of America's remaining witches, who are trying to figure out who their new leader is.

The fourth season centres around the performers in a Freak Show. The fifth season is about the hunt for a serial killer living in a hotel (Hotel Cortez), a building originally made as a torture chamber in the 1920s. The sixth season is about a farmhouse in North Carolina that is haunted by the ghosts of the lost colonists. The seventh season shows varying reactions to Trump’s Presidential win.

Season eight shows the post-apocalyptic world where the only surviving people live in a bunker. Season Nine shows a group of aerobics-loving counsellors arriving at Camp Redwood for the summer, but unfortunately the psycho killer who murderedcampers' years earlier has also arrived.

The series is ever-expanding and ever-changing, which is part of the reason why so many people love it so much. The series has garnered multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations, amongst other accolades, since beginning in 2011.
